We are pleased to announce that Aspasia-92 Ltd. is implementing the internal project “Green Warehouse” with the financial support of Norway Grants.
The “Green Warehouse” project includes equipping our newly built warehouse with an innovative shelving system that is operated by semi-automatic machines called shuttles. Shelving systems of this type offer a very high rate of usable storage space per volume and with the completion of the project our usable storage space will increase several times over. This expanded storage space will allow us to extend the production runs of each product, reducing the number of machine changeovers from one product to another. During such changeovers electricity is used without producing output. Therefore, reducing the number of changeovers results in significant electricity savings and emissions reductions.
In addition to the shelving system, the “Green Warehouse” project includes equipping the warehouse with new state-of-the-art lifting equipment in the form of a reach truck and pallet jack. Their high travel speed and ultra-precise steering will make the work of our warehouse team safer and more pleasant and will lead to a further increase in warehouse efficiency.
Norway Grants’ financial support will be worth EUR 110,000, representing 30% of the total project cost. We are grateful to Norway Grants for this support!
